Despite being older than the Ferrari Enzo, the F50 remains one of the most popular Ferrari models in the market. Its sticker price in 1995 ranged between US$480,000 and US$555,000. Because it’s a limited edition super car, the price is bound to be higher today.

Aside from the prestige of driving a collectible super car with a big price tag, the F50 is also popular because of its prowess as a sports car. It nestles a 4.7-liter-V12-engine that can run as fast as 325 km/h.

The V12 engine is famous for its prowess and stability, which ensures the Ferrari driver a powerful ride in the highway and racetracks, as well as a smooth and easy city driving.

The model is configured with a 6-speed manual transmission, which could be a problem for drivers who only drive automatic units. However, you’re not really a race car fanatic unless you’re familiar with manual transmission, so this should be no trouble at all.

The Ferrari F50 is available in Berlinetta and Barchetta body types. Both Ferrari F50 variations are manufactured as convertible and full-roof models.

The inspiration for this commemorative Ferrari model was the Ferrari F1 641 model of 1990. Aside from the powerful engine implanted in the F50 models, the overall reviews also praise the cars’ suspension, steering, and brake technology.

Ferrari to open first retail store in London

MILAN - Italy's Ferrari, the luxury sports car maker of Formula One fame owned by Fiat FIA.MI, plans to open a store in London this autumn, the latest to join a lucrative retail network that stretches the globe.

Ferrari, which also reported higher results for the quarter, said in a statement on Thursday it had signed a franchising agreement with Italian retail group Percassi to open a two-level store on Regent Street.

Selling everything from caps to sunglasses to model cars with the prancing horse logo, the stores have proven to be a success since Ferrari opened its first one in Italy in 2002.

Apart from the one in London, Ferrari has 20 stores in cities including Beijing, Las Vegas, and Singapore.

Rival Lamborghini, which belongs to Volkswagen

Audi division, is hoping to have the same retail success with its brand when it opens its first store in Las Vegas this spring.

Earlier in the day, Ferrari's results were published by the Italian industrial group Fiat.

For the first quarter, it made a trading profit of 59 million euros, up 90.3 percent from the same period a year ago on higher volume sales, better selling prices, and lower costs.

Ferrari delivered 1,645 cars to customers, up 1 per cent.

Revenues went up 19.7 percent to 456 million euros, mostly due to sales of the 612 Scaglietti and 599 GTB Fiorano models.

Ferrari's Formula One team won last season's world constructors' championship with their Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen taking the individual title.
